Is that a tube of shuttles in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? What? It is a tube of shuttles? How big are your pockets?! Just one of the conversations you’ll never have but necessary to make this joke work. You can’t go wrong with feather shuttlecocks as a present to a badminton player. Yonex is generally considered the best in the business when it comes to shuttles. If you’re not aware, the Yonex Aerosena range is the top line of their shuttles. Aerosena 10s are the cheapest but least durable. AS 50s are the best quality but most expensive. Ok so right now, this might seem like a bit far off given this whole Covid situation. But many countries host BWF sanctioned tournaments. When we’re allowed to watch large sporting events again, consider tickets to one! If you really want to be sure they can watch all the big stars in action consider one of the bigger tournaments such as the All England, Malaysia Open or Indonesia Open. I don’t know the rules in your local leagues, but in some matches, we play a best of 9 rubbers. So each pair can play a maximum of 9 games each! That’s a lot of games! And sometimes you need that extra boost. Energy gels are great for your badminton partner who just played about 3 jump smashes in a row and is exhausted cause they spent all lockdown watching Netflix and eating takeaway. Yeah, we all did it! Well, now you can be ready for the next game with a short term boost of energy! I can’t guarantee you will play better after taking it, but you will at least be able to move again!
7. Badminton Lampshade
I ain’t gonna lie…now that I’ve seen these, I want them. If your badminton buddy is really obsessed with the sport, make their house match their personality by sprucing up their home with a badminton lampshade! It would look great in their kid’s room who they’re slowly pushing into badminton by surrounding them with badminton paraphernalia. In fact, I reckon they look good in just about any room in the house! Some guests may question your decor choices, but it’s your house! And if you want a badminton lampshade you’re damn well going to have one!
